The Issue of Food
Most of the events will serve food of some kind. Find out in advance what you will be eating at the event so you can eat before you go in if needed. It may be a meal, it may be a snack or it may be nothing. Each party planner and actor hosting the event makes their own arrangements regarding food. The food served at the Airtel Plaza Hotel is fairly high end, I have to be honest with you, but if you bring your walking shoes, there are many establishments within a quick jaunt down the street, including Denny's and a great burger joint. If you have a car, you'll never run out of places to eat.
Dining (California Cuisine) is available in "Landings," the main dining room (above & below), or enjoy the views of the jets taking off and landing while dining on the outdoor patio:
Landings is open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
The Clipper Cafe (above) opens at 5am daily and offers specialty gourmet Newhall coffee, baked goods, salads, sandwiches and sodas.
Modeled after the famous Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, the Clipper Club Lounge (above) is a popular spot for the local residents and hotel guests alike. Relax under the softly lit tones of the exotic atmosphere and sample our extensive and tasty appetizers. Open from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. daily (weekends until 1:00 a.m.) All of these places are inside the Airtel Plaza Hotel itself. There is also a Denny's within walking distance, as well as a Thai restaurant and a Hawaiian BBQ place. If you are feeling particularly thrifty, a Food-4-Less grocery store is also within walking distance from the hotel. Be sure and stock up on bottled water. You are going to get dehydrated quickly and LA water from the tap isn't all that great. Photos and description are from www.airtelplaza.com |
